Thumbnail storyboards-They are the first detailed sketches of the storyboards for a completed scene. Usually, these quick sketches are no bigger than your thumbnail. That is why they are called "Thumbnail storyboards". Thumbnails are very simple storyboard. Just enough to explain the shot. They show what the overall scene is and how its going to play out.

Traditional storyboards-a series of pencil sketches that help visualise an initial idea before any filming or animating starts and are usually just rough sketches to get a basic idea. They show how the scene and characters will be doing and the use of arrows in this example show what way the motorbike will turn.

Digital storyboards- They are a storyboard that's been made using digital software or a they can be made with pencil and paper and scanned into digital software but are usually created directly on the software. They can be created by using many different websites and usually end up looking a little bit like a cartoon but they are useful as they create a lot of in depth detail and can show very clearly what's going to happen in the scene.
