Establishing shot- An establishing shot is most commonly used as an opening scene it is wide enough to show the geography, the time of day and show how large objects compared to their environment. Its is also often used to transition between scenes.

Master shot- The master shot is usually put after an establishing shot, similar to the establishing shot the master shot shows the location and geography of the scene. it can also help show the characters in the scene and how distant they are from each other. It can also help show changes in the scene and present how alone a character is.

wide shot- The wide shot positions the subject far from the camera to show their relationship to the environment. It can help when trying to make characters appear lost or overwhelmed.

Full shot- A full shot is used when the subjects entire body fits within the top to the bottom of the frame. Its not necessary to put the subject in the middle of the frame but is most usually used this way. The shot can help see the outfit of the character and the body language.

Medium full shot- The medium full shot is used to show the top of the subjects head to just below their waist. It can be helpful to show the power and confidence of a character.

Medium shot- The medium shot is the most popular kind of shot because its a neutral shot as its not dramatic or distancing. it can help capture the subject to show how we interact with people. The medium shot is used from just above the waist but below the chest and ends just above the head.

Medium close up shot- The medium close up shot is used to show the subject from mid chest to just above their head. They are used to reduce distraction and show and prioritize the characters story and details.

Close up- A close up is most likely used to show a change in emotion or dramatic beat. They are most used at eye level to get a better idea of what the character is thinking. they can also help present a character in multiple different ways as it can be used to show affection but can also be used to show intimidation.

Extreme close up- An extreme close up is used to isolate a specific area, the most common is the eye. They also help focus on something that will be crucial to the film.
