young vs old age
Young people in media are stereotyped to be disrespectful and carless to those of the older generation, this is shown in the film "Freaky Friday" where a mother and daughter don't get along but then they switch bodies and discover what's its like to be in each others shoes and gain respect towards one another as the film proceeds.
London
London is stereotyped to be multiple things depending on what part of London people refer to. London overall is stereotyped to be a dangerous place with careless people and crime. This is also represented in the ty series of "Top Boy" as the ty show takes place in London mainly in hackney. In top boy the main stereotypes shown is violence and drugs as throughout the series there is a lot of violent scenes and drug use.
ethnicity
Samoan- Samoans are stereotyped to be athletic, strong, lazy, proud and dangerous. The film "Moana" helps represent this through the character of Maui as he represents himself as a very independent person and that has strong and doesn't need to follow rules and he lives on the edge a little by putting himself in possibly dangerous situations
Hawaiian- Hawaiians are stereotyped to be caring for family, friendly, active. The film "Lilo and stitch" helps represent this through most of the characters in the film as they film shows that everyone is close to each other and how they are friendly. The character Lilo is shown to be all these things as she wants to help stich and she is very close with her family.
Norwegian- Norwegians are stereotyped to be modest, kept to themselves, introverted and independent. The film "Frozen" helps represent this through the character of Elsa as she goes through most of the film by choosing to be by herself and staying independent.
young males
young males are stereotyped in modern day by society to be selfish, only care about themselves and their friends, disrespectful and dangerous. The tv show "Top Boy" helps represent this through multiple of there characters.
