1) why has interactive media become a major media device in museums and media instalations worldwide.

museums are often seen to be a place of just walking by different peieces of art, history etc and just reading about what they are from a peice of paper that next to them or on a panel in front of them. interactive media has changed the way that museums are shown to be and have broken the barrier of being a boring unintresting place to go for some people and have become an entiey new kind of unique experience that people want to go to.

Interactive media has become a major device in museums and media interactions as technology keeps growing and media installations are getting more and more advanced. Museums are using this to their advantage by using interactive experiences to make customers' and visitors' experiences unforgettable and something they will want to do again and recommend to others.

Museums can include so many different varieties of things that make the experience unique, for example museums may include screens that customers can come up to and touch them to interact, the interactive screen can help them get lost within so much information and learn so much more than they were expecting to learn when coming to the museum. Musuems have been adding more and more interactive exhibitions to encorage more people to come and learn as the current generation has been loosing intrest in history and other kind of museum experiences, so by making it more engaging museums are becoming more popular because of how much technology had advanced within interactive media.

Interative media has benefits for museums and their relationships with customers and visitors because it helps build the bond between the visitor and the museums history that its trying to present within its exhibitions, as the different types of interactive media can have experiences that can help the vistor get more in to depths of what history they may be looking at by making a completley new angle for a customer to look at the exhbit in.

The types of interactive media museums have put in place varies all over the diffrent types some examples on interactive media include interactive touch screens, vr experiences, AI generated fill ins and more. These all can be used in museums to help bring to life the past and whatever the museum is based around, the use of AI can help fill in gaps in old building stuctures for example and show what they used to look like and can be shown on a screen or in the form of a type of holagram. VR experiences can help show for example what soemthing also used to look like, simlar to the AI but the use of the Vr can help walk through the old building and can show in great detail things that may not be noticable now.

I think touch screens are a very popular type of interactive media as around museums now they have stands with massive screens on or walls that just contain one big screen which have detailed in depth descriptions of what the exhibit is on and include offshoots that can go into even more deeper history and have facts and diffrent types of "did you know?" questions to engage the customer into the experience. I think its the most popular because its very hands on and it can get the vistor exremly involved very quickly.

2) who are the target audience these devices are aimed at and why

Interactive media in museums is essential for the younger generation and the older generation as museums alone can be boring and people can get unintrested quite quickly when walking around and looking at exhibits.

Museums are an attraction so people from around the world may come to a specific museum to find out more about something that intrests them. But in this situation it can also be difficult to understand as people wont be able to read all types of different languages so people may find it hard to understand and may need them translated so having interactive media around things that may be put into a different languages can help people see things in a language they can understand or if the msueums is highly advanced when it comes to technology they can offer things like headphones that attach to a type of screen or device they can walk around with and can listen to a description of what they may be looking at and they can listen in a language that they choose so that the customer wont become confused on what they may be looking at.

The younger generation gets entertainment from things like iPads and phones etc which can show any form of entertainment that they chose to watch with a press of a button. It is understandable why museums need to adapt because the younger generation is getting less and less intrested in the worlds history and things that happened that make our world what is it today and have also become less intreseted in going to museums in general for any type of thing that may be being displayed. So its important for museums to include interactive media so people can get more in depth with the history and what may be in the museum so everyone can enjoy it. Museums can do this by adding in all different types of expereinces that are also enjoyable like VR expereiences so they can have fun whilst learning about the exhibit they have gone to see.

For the older generation its also important to have these kind of things in place because they can impress them and so they can also get more in depth with the things that intrest them. Its also a major thing for disabled people in museums so the use of interactive media can also be beneficial to those with disabilites as those fo example who may may struggle with reading or hearing so having the accsess to it all at your fingertips using videos and in writing can benefit those who cant hear if someone is talking about a specific exhibit and can follow along with the use of the media. It can also be helpful to those with these types of disabilites as some museums may offer ipads or a form of an ipad so the vistors can carry them around with them so if they are for example on a tour guide experience they can follow along by reading the screen they have and can still be involved into the exhibits.

3) analyse real world examples and explain how the musuem uses the interactive technology

London science museum

London science museum includes all diiferent types of interactive expereinces that can get anyone involved.

At the london science museum there is an games section where anyone can go an interactive and play any game that may come to their minds. I think this is a good uses of interactive technology as you can play childhood favriote games and play with the other people around you aswell and all join in together on the same experience. I think that its also really effective and unique as there are games that were created over 50 years ago and its offered to a wide range of ages. It also gives insight in new and up and coming technology so it makes a whole new unseen type of world avalible to anyone.

Also at the london science museum is a

interactive music exhibit witch includes learning why music has such a powerful hold over people and includes an interactive experience of seeing if the public can figure out if they can hear if a tune has been created by a human or a machine.

visitors can also try the groundbreaking MiMU Gloves, created by Imogen Heap and used by artists to make gestures that control music-making software live on stage.

Overall i think that the london science museum contains loads of different types of interactive media that is avaliable to evreyone and can get so many people involved as there is something for everyone to expereince and try out.

Van gogh immersive experience

The van gogh immersive experience in london is a good example as its a musuem of his life work and has amazing rooms full of interactive experiences to show the art coming to life to the public. They offer VR experiences showing the inspiration behind his work and walkthroughs of the places that he went to to get inspiration. I think its really effective because it can

really connect the person with the art work by making the work move and become a reality. I think ita a really unique exhibit as you can feel as you are living in the art and walk through it and experience it. The exibit also goes into depths of his artwork and meaning behind all his painting using voice overs and headphones that the customerd can wear to learn more about his life and history. Overall The van gogh musuem has uses interactive media to create a bigger connection between the public and the artwork. The use of the screens makes the experience unique as its a full 360 degree show of his artwork that makes the vistors completly emrged.
