What do you do well?
I think I'm good at time management as I'm good at meeting deadlines on time and making sure all the work that needs to be done is in on time. I also feel as I'm a friendly person and can be sociable and support my friends and family if there feeling unmotivated and need a pick me up. I also feel as I'm quite creative and organizing in my work and my personal life as I like organizing my college work and things like my bedroom etc. Id also say I'm quite adventurous and like exploring into things that I haven't done before to try new experiences and learn more information.
What study skills do you currently have?
Id say at the moment my study skills include meeting deadlines on time and keeping up with the work by scheduling it in to my time and going to plus time to catch up on any work I may have missed.
What academic writing and research skills do you currently have?
Id say I like to go as in depth as I can when doing research and attempt to write in as much detail as I can so I can get my point across with a lot of proof and facts. I like writing and explaining things in detail so others can understand it easily if they were to read it.
What workforce skills do you currently have?
Id say currently I have good communication skills at college and can easily ask for help if I need it and same with where I work and can communicate with my collogues if I have any issues.
What soft skills do you currently have?
Id say empathy is a good soft skill I have as I can imagine how someone can be feeling and can support them where I can and give them comfort. I can also tell when someone may be feeling upset and a bit down so I try and do things make them feel better by offering if they want to talk about it or just seeing if they would like a hug etc.
What hard skills do you currently have?
Id say a hard skill I have is that I can type quite fast so I can get all the information down thats in my head easily and if someone's talking to me and saying to take notes i can get them down quickly and normally not miss anything important.
weaknesses can be described as a flaw or weak point It is an area that you lack in strength and something you are not good at or you are inadequate at It can be physical or mental:
people pleaser
lazy
impatient
self critical
sensitive
public speaking
overthinking
shy
What do you think you’re not very good at (in relation to your goal)?
I think I am not very good at public speaking which is not very good in relation to my goal as it will involve a lot of talking to people and large groups, I think recently I'm starting to become more confident in some areas when it comes to speaking to small groups but large groups can feel a bit more intimidating and quite stressful. I also think being sensitive is quite bad as I can take a lot of things personally and don't take criticism well sometimes but since being at long getting feedback on things I need to improve on my work I've started taking less personally and working harder on getting to my goal.
What do you struggle with when studying?
When I'm studying I tend to get distracted a lot as I'm normally with others or in my bedroom which is a bad environment to try and study as there's a lot of distractions, so I think I need to start considering other locations to carry out more productive studying.
What are your weaknesses in regards to academic writing and researching?
I feel like I can tend to ramble on a lot and tend to repeat myself in a lot of my work which I think can be a bad thing as I forget what I have previously written and then I read over my work and realise that I've repeated myself a lot and will have to take out quite a bit and then will have to think of more things to include in my writing.
What workforce readiness skills do you lack?
I think I'm not that good at decision making because I'm quite and indecisive person so if I have a tough decision or someone asks me to make one I will become quite stressed and wont be able to give a response.
What soft skills do you lack?
I think I'm quite bad at problem solving as I find it hard to find a solution to some issues and can become quite overwhelmed if I cant think of anything to fix what the problem maybe.
What hard skills do you lack?
I think I am quite bad at maths and if someone asks me a question for something simple ill need to use a calculator as I wont be able to think of the answer in my head.
an opportunity is a occasion, situation, time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something that you want to do. A chance to do something or an opening or possibility.
Are there upcoming seminars, classes, or lectures that can help you improve?
In my business course we have an exam coming up in a few months which is very important to our final grades. I think the exam is a good motivation pusher to help me want to revise and study more so I'm prepared for the exam when it comes around.
Do you have access to resources to help you improve?
There are loads of online sources that are available and books to use to look over and learn about a specific section of the exam which includes loads of detail about different aspects of the exam content.
Do you have access to people or friends who can help you out?
I have a few friends who also take business and a few in my class who can help me out if I'm stuck on a question and who I can revise and study with.
a threat is an obstacle or contextual factor that has the possibility of stopping you from achieving your goals.
What contextual factors might get in the way of your goals?
I think travel costs for public transport may be an issue for when I go to university as when I was looking at transport costs to and from different university's the average cost for a one way ticket ranges from £60-£100 so it may stop me from coming home as often as I would like to.
What obstacles can you predict that might interfere with your plans?
I think leaving my family when I go to university is something that is starting to worry me as I think it will make me reconsider if I feel ready to leave if I choose a university that is quite far to get to.
What factors out of your direct control might interfere with your plans?
I think cost of living will also be something that will be quite annoying and may also make me question if I want to do a gap year before I go to university so I can save up some money for groceries and extra things that I may need to purchase for myself.
What resources do you lack that might cause problems?
at the moment I cant currently think of any.
